Java vs Bedrock

Java and Bedrock are sold separately and run different clients / protocols. Bedrock supports cross-play out of the box; Java does not. A few mechanics (combat cooldown in older versions, parity with redstone behaviour) differ, but most gameplay loops (Survival, Creative, Skyblock-style minigames) work the same way on both.

How to join a Bedrock server

From Minecraft Bedrock: Servers tab → Add Server → enter IP and Port → join. Verify the IP with MCVote's SRV resolver at /tools/srv-resolver before joining; if the IP looks wrong or returns a private address it is misconfigured.

Frequently asked questions

Can Bedrock players play with Java players?

No, Java and Bedrock use different protocols and do not natively cross-play. A few third-party tools (Geyser) let a Bedrock player join a Java server from the same world, but the official editions stay separate.

Where is the Bedrock world save stored?

On Bedrock Dedicated Server, the world lives in the Bedrock server folder (worlds/<name>/). On PocketMine-MP, world data lives in /worlds/. Both can be moved between hosts if the directory tree is preserved.
