Install suite
Install the EssentialsX jar plus the sub-modules you need: EssentialsXChat for chat formatting, EssentialsXSpawn for spawn, EssentialsXProtect for spawn protection. EssentialsX alone covers the core commands.
Per-command permissions
Most EssentialsX commands have a permission node (essentials.home, essentials.tpa). Add to your LuckPerms group with /lp group default permission set essentials.home true. The EssentialsX wiki lists every node.
Tuning performance
EssentialsX has a config flag for /tpa cooldown, a chat rate-limit, an economy starting balance, and a per-player homes limit. Tune all four in /plugins/Essentials/config.yml on first install — defaults are sensible but rarely optimal.

Do I need Vault to run EssentialsX?
Yes for any command that touches money (/pay, /eco). Without Vault, the economy falls back to EssentialsX's built-in money system, which works but doesn't interoperate with other plugins.
Can I disable specific Essentials commands?
Yes — set essentials.<command> to false for any player and the command is hidden. To remove a command globally, edit the config.yml aliases block.
